WHERE IS MAZDA MADE?

Do many people wonder where Mazda is made? They want to know if they are domestic or foreign, and for Mazda, not all production is as far away as you think. A Mazda vehicle can come from various global plants; Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, China, and Mexico. However, as of 2021, Mazda will have a home in the U.S. once again. In a partnership with Toyota, a Mazda production facility will come to Huntsville, Alabama. A prediction by Mazda to produce over 300,000 vehicles yearly.

A SHORT U.S. PRODUCTION HISTORY

Between 1987 and 1992, the production of Mazda MX-6 vehicles was in Flint, Michigan. However, operations for Mazda car dealerships remain. Support for in the U.S. and Mexico includes marketing, parts, and customer service.

WHAT DOES THE MAZDA NAME MEAN?

In 1931 in Mazda-Go auto-rickshaw, the Mazda name made an appearance by “Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd.” It was not until 1984 when the name Mazda had a proper debut. The name came from two sources. A mixture of the Persian God, Ahura Mazda, meaning light, and wisdom. The second from the company’s founder, Jujiro Matsuda (pronounced “Mazda” in Japanese).
